November Support Group Meeting

HELLO EVERYONE!

NEWS FLASH:  MEETING TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!!

WE ARE NOW MEETING ON THE THIRD TUESDAYS OF EACH MONTH
11:00AM - 1:00PM.

SO OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE TUE. NOVEMBER 15TH AT 11:00AM.

Still will be at the same location - St. Joseph's Outpatient Rehab - Conference Room.....so be there or be square!!!!

As promised - Kathie had lined up a wonderful speaker for this meeting. A certified Yoga teacher to demonstrate techniques to reduce stress and increase physical activity....geared to our specific needs. Her philosophy is Yoga can be for every BODY and everybody! However, yesterday, we learned she broke her foot - so she is unable to make this meeting.

Never fear. We have another wonderful speaker; our very own, Dianna Contreras. She was diagnosed with both Chiari and syringo in her early twenties and she is going to share her life and coping victories as a young working woman, wife and mother. This topic will prove to be very insightful and beneficial to all of us. Plus it is the perfect example of why we have this support group and all of you wonderful people to share.

Now for more news: For our Tue. December 21st meeting will would like to do the same thing as last year and that would be a Holiday Luncheon Meeting. It was so great last year, we thought we would do it again so mark your calendars and bring a little something we all can enjoy.

We would like to welcome the new members who attended our meeting last month and look forward to seeing you at the November meeting. Plus we would like to re-welcome some of our old members that came last meeting. What a treat to see you again. Please keep up the good work. We need your support and willingness to do. Thank you!!

October Support Group Meeting

HELLO EVERYONE:
How is everyone - much better since the cooler weather is here!!!. Yes, it will return....they promised. Anyway we are writing to remind you of our upcoming meeting, Thursday, October 20, 1:00 - 3:00 pm, St Joes Outpatient Rehab, Conference Rm.

IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY HEARD - THE "CONQUER CHIARI WALK ACROSS AMERICA"
HEADED UP BY BETH WELLS, WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. THERE WERE UPWARDS OF 300
ATTENDEES AND ALMOST $10k IN DONATIONS TO GO TO CONQUER CHIARI FOR THE CURE OF CHIARI AND SYRINGO!!! YA--WHOO! WAY TO GO EVERYONE!! IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY ALL AROUND!!

We will be talking about many ITEMS for the UPCOMING YEAR:
-Kathie has some wonderful ideas for speakers thru out the year. Also we are looking to all of you for your SPEAKERS ideas. So put your thinking caps on.

-Dianna will talk about the formation of EVENING MEETINGS

-Need for SELETION OF OFFICERS for our group will be discussed.

-Discuss the possiblitly of having a walk or some other FUND RAISERS for ASAP (American Syringomyelia & Chiari Alliance Project, Inc.) in the Spring.

-Talk about up coming EVENTS ACROSS THE VALLEY that our group members could attend to get the word out about our support group.

- Discuss ways to BOOST MEMBERSHIP of group.

-Talk about how to INCREASE ATTENDANCE/INVOLVEMENT of members. It is a shame we have many members on our rolls and so few who actually help out.

-CHANGE OF TIME and possibly DAY of current meetings in order to get old time back

One of our members, Crystal, will talk about her experience with Mangosteen and how it has helped with her diagnosis of Syringo.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING A GOOD CROWD TO HELP WITH THESE DECISIONS FOR THE UP COMING YEAR. SO....SEE YOU ALL SOON!!!!
