We had a fair turn out - we missed those of you who were unable to attend - but it was great to see you that did attend. Especially, those of you who were brand new - thank you for coming to the meeting....we so enjoyed meeting you. And a special thanks to you that have not attended for awhile - it was great seeing your smiling face once more. We need to see your smiling faces again!!!

Conquer Chiari's "Walk Across America" :
Beth talked about the Walk in greater detail. She had a wonderful idea for a fundraiser for Conquer Chiari in conjunction with the Walk itself....and here it is!!!
- California Pizza Kitchen at 10100 N. Scottsdale Rd. has graciously offered to donate 20% of all meals purchased on MONDAY, JUNE 6TH, 2011 from 11:00am - 10:00pm when you give them the coupon which is attached below. Even if you are unable to go -forward the coupon to all your friends and family and ask them to TAKE THE COUPON and ENJOY A PIZZA and 20% of their purchases will go directly to Conquer Chiari for research of Chiari Malformation and syringomyelia....IT'S THAT EASY AND THAT FUN!!!!! So don't be a deadbeat, surly you know someone who would love to do this....go for it!!
- Next we talked about: A PLANNING MEETING for the Walk on SATURDAY, JUNE 11th, 1:00pm, at the Anthem Community Park. Link to Park
The walk will start at #10-meet there.
- An AZ Syringo & Chiari Support Group Team has been set up for all of you who have not registered for the Walk yet. The team name is TheZipperHeads aka AzSyringo/Chiari Sprt.Grp. You can locate it by going to the ConquerChiari site www.conquerchiari.org and click on register as a walker and go to team named TheZipperHeads and register. DO IT TODAY - IT IS THAT EASY....The walk is a lot of hard work and it is also a lot of fun too. OH ya, forget to tell you we are going to have special visors for all the "Support Group" kids, big and little.
ASAP's Chiari & Syringomyelia Conference - July 27 - 30, 2011 ...RECLAIMING HEALTH
Rachel talked about the upcoming ASAP Conference which will be held in Denver and hosted by Dr. Oro. Hotel arrangements have been made with the Omni Hotels & Resorts of Interlocken/Denver. The rates are reasonable and the upcoming speaker agenda will prove to be outstanding. Some of the topics discussed will be as follows: Chiari I Malformation with Dr. Oro. Syringomyelia with Dr. Heiss, Treatment Options for Syringomyelia Dr.Iskandar; Complications of Treatment of SM & CM by Dr. Bolognese; Spinal Cord Regeneration Research with Dr. Falci, just to name a few. Summer Months Meeting Schedule
June and July, 2011 meetings will be cancelled - We will resume our meetings in August on Thursday August 19 at 1:00pm in the Outpatient Rehab Conference Rm of St. Joe's. Hope to see all of you then. Don't Forget The Walk Across America Walk will be the next month on September 17th So let's all make the August meeting if at all possible.
